NEW Store Hobart!

New Hobart Adairs store a Tasmanian First

Late 2013 saw a new milestone for Adairs: the opening of the company’s first Tasmanian store, in Hobart. According to store manager Christina Cabrera, the highly-anticipated opening was met with a rush of customers that has not slowed.

“Everybody loves Adairs here,” Christina says. “They’re so excited we’ve opened in Hobart. People are even coming in with shopping lists!”

And Christina points out that they won’t be disappointed. Like all Adairs stores, the Hobart store is always well-stocked with the traditional Adairs range, as well as all the latest seasonal fashion favourites.

Proving popular: quality bedlinen

Christina reports that so far in the Hobart store the regular Adairs best-sellers, such as towels, bamboo sheets, and the 500 thread count Pima World’s Softest Cotton Sheets are in high demand.

“People are keen for beautiful, good-value sheets that combine quality with affordability,” she says. “We gets a lot of positive feedback on our sheets. The newer, softer quilt covers, such as the Mercer + Reid Watercolour Garden and the Home Republic Alpine that we’ve started stocking more recently are also well received.”

Christina says that many of the customers have a high level of familiarity with the Adairs range, having shopped Adairs either online or in-store on the Australian mainland.

“Customers appreciate that one Adairs store is very like another, with the same product range and the same high level of customer service,” Christina says. “But even so, the new Hobart store is particularly beautiful.”

Adairs in Tasmania

Visitors to the new store are not just from Hobart, but are coming from all over the island as word spreads about the new store’s opening. Christina, who formerly worked at the Sydney Artarmon store, says that the main difference between the two stores is that people always have time for a chat.

“Even when they’re clearly in a hurry, they’ve got time for pleasantries,” she says. “Our customers are always eager to talk to the Adairs team. We love it.”

Christina explains that customers are usually quick to take advantage of the fact that there’s usually at least one visual merchandiser in each store, and a number of staff who are skilled in recreating magazine-styled looks.

“Customers value our input when it comes to establishing colour schemes and often bring in pictures of what they’re matching to,” she says. “We love to help with that sort of thing. Nothing’s too much trouble!”

All I want for Christmas

This Christmas, Christina says the owl theme is in high demand. She says pretty owls, sparkly whites and neutrals are selling quickly, in line with this year’s trend for crisp whites, blues and a slightly Nordic feel.
