Bamboo, Tencel and Modal are all both ‘natural’ and ‘man-made’?

Did you know: bamboo, Tencel® and Modal® fabrics are both ‘natural’ and ‘man-made’?

Sounds contradictory? Let us explain! These fabrics are manufactured from man-made cellulose, which is made from wood or bamboo pulp. As a result they are not synthetic fibres like nylon or polyester, and their attributes are more akin to those of cotton or linen. This means they have inherent anti-microbial and anti-odour properties, and good moisture absorption, softness and colour retention – making them ideal choices for bedlinen! Bamboo, Tencel® and Modal® are made from renewable resources using production processes that have minimal impact on the environment. So you can enjoy the natural properties of these man-made fabrics, without the disadvantages of synthetic fabrics.

do these towels stay soft washed in a front loader washing machine? would love to hear your answer as I am not happy with the towels washed in my front loader.

Hi Dianne, we do suggest to stick to a warm, gentle machine wash, preferably in a front load washer,  finishing the drying process in a tumble dryer. Finish drying your towels off in it for the last five minutes of drying time on a cool or warm setting. They will come out feeling soft and fluffy. Also avoid using Fabric softener as fabric softener coats the yarn, which makes the towels less absorbent.
